Upon arrival in Kigali, Rwanda, you’ll be welcomed by your safari guide and begin your scenic road transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in southwestern Uganda. The journey takes you through rolling green hills, rural villages, and tea plantations, offering a taste of East Africa’s natural beauty.

Cross the border into Uganda via Cyanika or Katuna and continue to your lodge near the forest. Enjoy a relaxing evening in preparation for the next day’s gorilla trek.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Wake up early for a briefing by park rangers before setting off into the dense jungle in search of one of Bwindi’s habituated mountain gorilla families. The trek can last from 1 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements.

Once located, you’ll spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat—watching them play, groom, and interact. It’s a powerful, emotional experience that few ever forget. Return to your lodge for rest or take an optional village walk to meet the local Batwa community.

Day 3: Drive to Kibale Forest National Park (Approx. 6–7 hours)

After breakfast, depart Bwindi and travel north to Kibale Forest, home to the largest concentration of primates in East Africa, including chimpanzees. The drive takes you through scenic highlands, crater lakes, and the tea-growing region around Fort Portal. Arrive in the late afternoon and check into your lodge near the forest.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

Head into Kibale Forest for a chimpanzee tracking adventure. Accompanied by an expert guide, walk through lush jungle to locate and observe a group of wild chimps. Listen to their calls echoing through the forest and watch them swing through the canopy.

In the afternoon, take a guided walk through the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run reserve known for its birdlife, monkeys, and cultural significance. Meet locals and learn about traditional ways of life

Day 5: Drive to Jinja via Kampala (Approx. 7–8 hours)

Begin your journey to Jinja, Uganda’s adventure capital, located where Lake Victoria meets the Source of the Nile. Pass through Kampala, Uganda’s bustling capital, and continue to Jinja. Arrive in the evening and settle into your lodge along the Nile River.

Day 6: Relaxation or Optional Activities in Jinja

Today is yours to relax or enjoy optional activities such as white-water rafting, bungee jumping, quad biking, or a peaceful boat cruise to the actual source of the Nile. Jinja is a perfect mid-trip break to recharge before heading into the Kenyan safari leg of your journey

After breakfast, begin your overland journey into Kenya. Cross the border at Malaba and continue to the town of Eldoret, located in Kenya’s western highlands. This stop offers a comfortable rest point before heading deeper into the Rift Valley. Spend the evening relaxing and enjoying the Kenyan countryside.

Day 8–9: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park (Approx. 5 hours)

Travel to Lake Nakuru National Park, a bird lover’s paradise known for its flamingos, rhinos, and dramatic rift valley landscapes. Enjoy game drives through acacia forests and along the lake shores. Spot white and black rhinos, lions, buffalos, and over 400 bird species.

You’ll spend two nights here, with time for both early morning and late afternoon game drives, giving you a chance to fully appreciate this underrated gem

Day 10–13: Drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve (Approx. 6 hours)

Next, continue to the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, known for its incredible wildlife density and breathtaking open plains. Over four days, embark on multiple game drives in search of the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino—as well as cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, and countless antelope species.

A Masai Mara balloon safari offers a breathtaking aerial view of Kenya’s iconic savannah at sunrise, where you can spot elephants, lions, and wildebeests from above. The serene flight ends with a champagne breakfast in the wild.

If you visit between July and October, you may witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, as millions of animals move across the plains from the Serengeti into the Mara.

A visit to a traditional Masai village provides a rich cultural experience. You’ll meet the semi-nomadic Masai people, witness their vibrant dances, and learn about their customs, dress, and way of life. The visit offers a deeper understanding of the region’s heritage, making your Masai Mara adventure both thrilling and enriching
