Day 5 – The Ultimate Gorilla Trekking Experience
🦍 Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
This is the highlight of your Uganda safari.
After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters for briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers.
You will then enter the ancient Bwindi forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.
The trek can be physically demanding because the forest terrain is mountainous, muddy and sometimes steep. Trekking time varies depending on the location and movement of the gorilla family.
Once you locate the gorillas, you will have the opportunity to observe them in their natural environment according to the park’s visitor regulations.
Prepare your camera for an extraordinary encounter with one of the world’s most fascinating wildlife species.
After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.
An optional cultural experience can also be arranged, including interaction with local communities around Bwindi.

Day 6 – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, depart from Bwindi and begin your scenic journey toward Lake Mburo National Park, one of Uganda’s most beautiful and accessible wildlife destinations.
Enjoy the changing landscapes as you travel through southwestern Uganda, with opportunities to admire rolling hills, local communities, farmlands and picturesque countryside along the way.
Upon arrival at Lake Mburo, check into your lodge and relax after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy an optional boat cruise on Lake Mburo, offering opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds and other wildlife around the lake.

Day 7 – Lake Mburo National Park to Entebbe/Kampala
Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before embarking on a guided walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park. This unique experience allows you to explore the park on foot with an experienced ranger guide and experience Uganda’s wildlife and landscapes from a completely different perspective.
During the walking safari, you may encounter zebras, impalas, buffaloes, warthogs, giraffes and numerous bird species, while learning about the park’s ecosystem and wildlife.
After the walking safari, return to your lodge, refresh and begin your journey toward Entebbe or Kampala.

Uganda Tourist Visa for U.S. Travelers
Travelers visiting Uganda for tourism are required to apply for their visa online.
The current ordinary single-entry Uganda tourist visa fee is US$50. Applicants should have a passport valid for at least six months and submit supporting documents such as a tour itinerary and accommodation information where applicable.
If your trip also includes Kenya or Rwanda, the East African Tourist Visa may be an option. It costs US$100 and permits tourism travel between Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda for up to 90 days, subject to the applicable immigration requirements.

Gorilla Permit Cost
For foreign non-resident travelers, Uganda’s standard gorilla trekking permit is currently US$800 per person. The permit is required for the gorilla trekking experience and should be secured well in advance, particularly for popular travel periods.
Low-Season Opportunity
Travelers looking for better value can consider Uganda’s lower-season periods, when permits may be available at approximately US$600 per person, particularly during April, May and November under the applicable tariff. Availability and current UWA terms should always be confirmed before booking.
