Day 1: Depart Entebbe/Kampala – Scenic Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your 3-day Uganda gorilla trekking adventure begins with a morning departure from Entebbe or Kampala. The journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in southwestern Uganda takes approximately 8–9 hours. Although the drive is long, it is incredibly rewarding, showcasing Uganda’s stunning countryside—rolling hills, lush plantations, terraced landscapes, and breathtaking views of the Virunga massif. Keep your camera close; your driver will be happy to stop for photo opportunities whenever you wish.
Along the way, you will have an exciting stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe, where you can take photos and participate in a simple water experiment illustrating the earth’s hemispheres. Afterward, continue to Mbarara for lunch before proceeding on a scenic drive to Bwindi or Kabale.
You will check in at your lodge—Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or Trekkers Tavern Lodge—for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After an early breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Ruhija Park Headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and safety. Your Bwindi gorilla trek can last 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family that day. As you move through the dense rainforest, enjoy Bwindi’s incredible biodiversity, scenic trails, and rich wildlife.
When you finally meet the mountain gorillas, you will spend a magical one hour observing their behavior, taking photos, and watching the young ones play—an experience many describe as life-changing. After the trek, return to the headquarters to receive your gorilla tracking certificate.

Day 3: Return to Kampala or Entebbe – End of Gorilla Trekking Safari
After breakfast, your guide will begin the scenic drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, marking the final day of your 3 Days Gorilla Trekking Uganda Safari. If you have a scheduled flight, you may proceed directly to the airport, or your guide can drop you at your post-tour accommodation.
