Later in the afternoon, take a guided walk through the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuarya community-managed reserve renowned for its rich biodiversity and excellent primate viewing. Keep your eyes peeled for a variety of wildlife including blue monkeys, olive baboons, bushbucks, otters, mongooses, bush pigs, and over 200 species of birds, such as the striking great blue turaco.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Bwindi

Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading to the Kanyanchu Tourist Centre by 8:00 AM for a briefing on the rules and expectations for chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest is famous for having the highest concentration of primates in East Africa, making it one of the best places in the world to observe chimpanzees in their natural habitat.

The chimpanzee trek typically lasts between 2 to 3 hours, and along the way, you’ll have the chance to encounter a wide range of wildlife, including red colobus monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, forest birds, and possibly forest elephants.

After this unforgettable experience, return to your lodge for a well-deserved lunch before beginning your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The drive offers stunning scenery and rural village views as you make your way south, arriving in the late afternoon.

Conclude the day with dinner and overnight accommodation at your reserved lodge nestled near the misty rainforest of Bwindi

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today marks the highlight of your safarian unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure in the legendary Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After an early breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the park headquarters, where you’ll receive a detailed briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority on trekking protocols and gorilla conservation guidelines.

Accompanied by professional guides and trackers, you’ll set off into the dense rainforest and bamboo-covered slopes in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can be physically demanding, with steep, muddy terrain and changing weather conditions. Depending on the gorillas’ movements, the trek may last anywhere from 2 to 8 hours.

Once the gorillas are located, you’ll spend a magical hour quietly observing them in their natural habitat. Watch as they feed, groom, play, and interact—an awe-inspiring experience that brings you face-to-face with one of the world’s most endangered and majestic creatures. Standing just meters from a silverback and his family is a moment you’ll cherish forever.

Please note that, for conservation purposes, time with the gorillas is strictly limited to one hour. Your ranger will provide clear instructions to ensure a safe and respectful encounter for both you and the gorillas.

After the trek, return to your lodge to rest, reflect, and enjoy a hearty dinner followed by an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the forest.

Fly Back to Entebbe,  Day 4

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your chartered flight to Entebbe International Airport. From there, connect to your international departure flight or proceed to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay, depending on your onward travel plans.
